As a Family we’ve had a wonderful year. It started off with a visit to see our New York family in January, followed by a mid-year trip to Minnesota for a celebration of sister Amy’s wedding to Marc, in August. Both trips were very memorable and it’s great to hear the kids recounting their memories from both.
A shorter family trip was also taken to the San Francisco area, where we enjoyed a full weekend of sightseeing and visiting with family in Oakland.
We have been very involved with our church family this past year. Leading the College and Career group for the second year and finding all kinds of things to keep us busy including: being asked to speak at the Men’s retreat (Go Eric!!), starting biblical mentoring training (Mandy’s turn for some learning...), and starting a trend of driving kids to activities; gymnastics and ballet being the major two. In our spare time we find ourselves “smaller” household projects to do like landscaping and building a pergola for the backyard.
It has been a very good year, full of blessings & challenges all of which we are thankful to our Heavenly Father for.

Anna is our vibrant 4 year old. She’s discovering imaginative play this past year and we’ve seen a lot more playing with dolls, as well as drawing fantastic pictures. After several months of gymnastics we are seeing her slow improvement in cartwheels and attempts at head stands, which has been fun to see.
Anna has also been trying her hand at reading and although is not a reader all by herself, she does try to sound out words as she finds interest. This coming year will include her starting home schooling and we’re excited to see what she learns!

Ben is our 2 year old family entertainer. He’ll do almost anything he can think of to have people laugh at him or with him (something Mom and Dad will have to help him find an outlet for in the future!).
He is also our cuddler and as he grows more independent we’ll miss his coming to find us with his “Will you cuddle with me?” question.
He loves his sister and looks to her for guidance, and as a friend in play. This of course gives us many teachable moments, but it’s all good!
Our greatest joy is personally growing in our love of our Lord and Savior and seeing our children growing in their understanding of the Lord and his loving, mighty gift of salvation through his risen Son. We pray you would also find Joy and Peace in knowing this mighty love.
Merry Christmas
With love,
Eric, Mandy, Anna and Ben
