Elephant Seals sunning themselves on the beach... it was cool seeing two ton males, and the smaller females and calves throwing sand on themselves so they don't overheat.
Redwood trees, smaller than the giant sequoias, but still impressive. There were several (with hollow openings) large enough to stand inside.
